The very things by which we discredit many people too often characterize our own lives (and local congregations). I think this is one of the problems with adopting ('hook, line and sinker') secular paradigms of leadership, discipleship, evangelism, etc. If we're not careful, our local assemblies will simply be microcosms of the state.
