Tuesday Town Hall 7…Thank You

Posted by: Sonny   in Townhall Tuesday

I just want to thank everybody who has visited, read and commented on this site.  I love you all and am going to keep this short.  We are coming up on one of the most important holidays we have.  Or at least that is what I think.

Thanksgiving.

But as we look around it is being left behind to some degree.  How much longer will it be before it becomes totally changed to the pre Christmas Christmas or Christmas Shopping Holiday?    Thanksgiving just does not have a chance.  It is not in the same league as Valentine’s Day, Halloween, Christmas or even Easter because of its lack in generating gift expenditures.  And it doesn’t even compare to New Years or the 4th because alcohol consumption is not the main focus.

But if you do live in America, you do have so much to be thankful for.  So for today, the question is simple.

What are you especially thankful for?

Have a great Thanksgiving and remember it is so much more than just a day off to eat and watch football.

Love you all.

Ps 40:5 “Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works, Which You have done; And Your thoughts toward us Cannot be recounted to You in order; If I would declare and speak of them, They are more than can be numbered.”

I thank the Lord for all He has done and will do for me. He is an awesome Father. His love, mercy, kindness, thoughtfulness, patience, and forgivness is great, wonderful, and amazing. He does so much for us and we should thank Him constantly and not forget that. He is always there for us when we are in need. He has taken care of me and my family. When I call to Him, He answers. I am thankful for Jesus dying so that I may live. I thankful for the Holy Spirit and His comfort, support, and guidance. I am thankful for the big things, like my family, my pets, and their well being, to the small things, like my electric appliances, running water, and the heat and air conditioner unit in my house. I am thankful for the food in my house and Him taking care of my vechiles from breaking down. I am thankful for a wonderful, depenable, kind Pastor and church family that loves me and helps me. I am thankful for everything I named and much, much more. I Love You and Praise You Lord. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.

Sonny,

I agree with you about Thanksgiving not having the HYPE other holidays have because gifts, alcohol and the other indulgences are not the focus of Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving should be something we express everyday, not just on this day once a year.

I make it a point to thank God during my prayer time. I often think about the 10 lepers that were healed and only (1) came back to say thank you. I want to be the (1) that always thanks God for who he is in my life!

I am thankful for God’s love, mercy and forgiveness. I am thankful that he did not punish me for the wrongs I have committed but sent his son to die for me and take my place for redemption. I am thankful that my name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

I am thankful for my family, I have 3 sons, who married beautiful girls (my daughter in loves), 1 daughter, 10 grandangels.

I adore my wonderful husband more than he knows.

I am thankful for a pastor that preaches God’s word in it’s entirety. I have a wonderful chuch family that has shown their love and support especially the past few months with the challenges our family has faced.

I am thankful that my grandangels will be home for Thanksgiving.

I am thankful for the many friends God has blessed me with and how each one of them has left a unique mark on my heart.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Love and prayers,

Dee

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, even more than Christmas. I am thankful for many things.

I am most thankful that God gave me His only son to die for ME while I was still a sinner so that I might enjoy all the blessings He has bestowed upon me.

I am thankful for the life He has given me. A life full of “adventures”, a beautiful family, so many beautiful friends, my finances, home, health, and MANY wonderful memories. I am thankful for the freedom I have to freely worship and praise Him boldly and without fear because of the sacrifices made by our brave men and women in the military.

I thank You, Lord, for my salvation. Thank You for your grace and mercy. Thank you for the comfort of your Holy Spirit that I might live this life with absoutely NO worries. Thank You for your promise of my life eternal with You. Thank You, Lord, for the opportunities You have given me to carry this message of hope, love and forgiveness to others.

I love this post and I am anxious to see everyone’s comments.

May each of you have a truly Blessed Thanksgiving.

Peace and Love,
Connie

An after thought……

Actually…..I give thanks to the Lord for EVERYTHING. Even every wrong choice, every mistake and every trial; because I learned to depend on Him and learned valuable lessons from each one. Each one is a my testimony of God’s precious grace and mercy.

Peace and blessings to all,
Connie

I thank God that He is more faithful to me than I could ever be to Him. I am thankful that He has more confidence in me than I do in Him at times.
I am thankful for everything, good and bad that helped me become the person I am today. I am thankful for a Godly husband and for who my children will become in Christ.
Mostly I am thankful that I was raised in a christian home and taught that He is our safe haven in times of trouble.
