This may be something you have seen and heard already but I was just wondering what you think about it.

Love you all

I suppose fiction books about the rapture, if they stay relatively true to the Bible, could be beneficial after the rapture. I really don’t have a problem with people coming to God because they are concerned about missing the rapture. But I think the main emphasis should be on more immediate consequences. I think most people, even if they believe the rapture scenario, believe they will recognize that the rapture has taken place and will then give their heart to God. Emphasizing the rapture as something to escape by getting saved misses the point that you could be run over tomorrow by a truck. Out of the billions who have died since the creation, not one made it to the rapture. We don’t have the promise of tomorrow. We certainly don’t have the promise of making it to the rapture.

That said, the laughter sounded weird to me regardless of anyone’s belief in a rapture or not. I am sure there was some history prior to the song. I can’t imagine what it was.

I was laughing my tail off. Very funny.

I remember having some of those same thouhts when I was a kid. I am glad I have a better perspective on Revelations and Daniel today than I once did. Even still, I think discussions on Revelations are even more divisive than discussions on creation. Everyone has an opinion and quite a few are certain their opinion is correct.

Sonny, you are looking for trouble theese days I can see… :)

Good comment.

Heath,

You are right about end times discussions. And whatever do you mean about me looking for trouble. :)

Love you all

I found that very interesting and a bit funny. It makes you look at using scare tactics as a way to get someone “saved” a lot differently. I remember when I was somewhere between10 and 13 the church I went to at that time took a Sunday night and showed one of those films. It scared me so bad that I was up for nights watching the sky just to make sure that I did not miss the rapture. It did not necessarily make me a better person or serious about my relationship with God. It just made me scared.

Love ya

It never scared me. I just laughed about it all.

What scares me is our complacent attitudes and unwillingness to think of better ways to serve Christ and advance the Kingdom. We will be held accountable.

Love you all
