I think the whole idea of Conscience really tells the story. You know when you get that feeling that what your doing isn't quite right? That is God's way of speaking to us. When you have the urge to help someone, but you don't know why, that is God. There are many times throughout our lives where our decisions affect where we are going, but also others. We all have the free will to ignore these "feelings", but if we go with what we are feeling/being told then we are usually going in the right direction.

Sometimes what God is telling us is something we don't want to hear, and we shut him out. I know we all do it, even if on a small scale. I know I do it way more than I should.

Yes there are direct contacts, dreams and visions, etc. However, I think God speaks to us everyday in ways we may not fully understand, but feel obliged to listen.

God is fulfilling his plan by communicating with us, and letting us know where we are and where we should be.

Once again, do we truly listen?

Love you, and good luck with school prep Sonny

God does still speak to us today. And it seems to happen in a variety of ways. I think some of the means of God's communication are the bible, the community of faith, the still small voice in our lives (that speaks in accordance with the Scriptures), and through life experiences. This is by no means an exhaustive list. Just some things that come to mind.

I've heard of people who have said that God spoke to them audibly (similar to another person standing next to them); however, I have yet to experience this. I believe this is possible but not the norm. What seems to be essential is that we realize that God is speaking to us. The question is whether we have "ears to hear" what God is saying. That is a question I've been pondering of late. How do we best hear the Spirit? How do we discern God's leading, especially considering the participatory nature of salvation and the future (as some of us contend)? For those questions, I look forward to others' comments as well. :D
