I accepted Jesus as my Savior and Lord on Palm Sunday in 1975. Gosh I feel old now!! LOL The relationship with Jesus just gets better and better over the years as the intimacy grows. Even this year, His Word has come alive more than it ever has and He has revealed so many things to me. There's an old song the Happy Goodman's use to sing: "I Wouldn't Take Nothing for My Journey Now." How true that is!!!! I have never been to Alabaster Church of God, but use to work in Alabaster. I am an active member of Shikinah Glory Assembly of God and am currently getting a women's ministry underway with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. God woke me up one night with the name of the Ministry along with the motto. Hem of His Garment - Ministry for Women - Reaching Out to Women - Reaching Up to Jesus. He then showed me a field ripe and ready for harvest with mainly women being the harvest and each one was wearing a tag that labeled them with whatever battle they were facing. They were reaching up as if they were reaching for the hem of His garment and Jesus was using the women from my church to reach out to them, lifting them up. As we helped raise them from the dirt they were heavily planted in, their tag began to just fall off them, along with all the dirt that had them weighed down. Since I have accepted this calling upon my life, I have been attacked left and right from the enemy. I have been diagnosed with arthritis in my spine, and now am having to use a walker because of severe pain in the left knee all the way down to the ankle..... excessive weight gain due to thyroid disease and of course, a constant reminder from Satan that he's going to kill me. I laugh in his face because I know he can't touch me and he's STILL defeated and has been ever since Jesus arose from the grave!! HALLELUJAH!!! I know my body is already healed, but I'm just waiting for it to show the manifestation of being healed. I have already been blessed from reading a few things on this blog, so a big ole THANK YOU to Jesus for allowing me to find it to begin with, which was no coincidence, but happened for a reason. I am married to Yogi, have 5 children and 3 grand daughters so far, we are expecting a grand son in April. I have been attending Alabaster Church of God for about 28 years. In the beginning I went because Opal, my daughter enjoyed going so much and constantly asked me to go with her. After just a few regular visits I was asked to teach the older girls class. :hlp: As I studied the lessons God began to draw me close to Him and show me His mercy and love. As ususal we were holding a fund raiser selling t-shirts. There were some cute one and some with a real eye opening message. I decided to give God a try after seeing a t-shirt that said Give God a try-the devil will always take you back. Up until then I really didn't think of myself as being "the devils''. I though I was a good person and smart enough to teach/control the class I was asked to teach, so what was so bad about me-nothing really- I was just a lost soul on my way to HELL without hope if I didn't surrender my will to God. God took me as I was and has moved me from glory to glory. Now I go to church to assemble with my church family to offer up praise and worship corporately to God, happy to have such a loving church. I sing on the praise team, in the choir, I help decorate the church and sub for Sonnys' class-when needed. I thank God for the precious family that I have here at ACOG. Sonny is a very good teacher and Tammy is awesome at supporting him, not to mention her other talents-singing, teaching, praying, exorting....... Tammy is a great person and I know if I ever need anything I can call her and although she may not can be with me she is praying for me and getting everyone else to. For as long as i can remember from my youth my mom had me in church every time the doors where open and even when they were not...lol. I in just the last 2 years found out that when i was born my mom gave me back to god and made the promise to raise me in the fear and knowledge of jehova. I am now 23 years old and dispite a breif distraction at age 18 i have never turned from my call to ministry. God is a faithful god true and just in all he does. he has shown this evident in my life because if you know me i have had my close calls with some things that should have killed me but god remained stable throughout my life i received my call to preach on march 12 2006 and exactly 1 year to the day i put on my battle gear shouldered my cross bound and determined to make a mark for the kingdom of god. Many people remember the day i walked out of my home church at alabaster cog and i only a few know the man god was molding me into. march 14, 2007 i arrived at my new home in saraland al....a small country town outside of mobile. There god began to grow me into the man i am today. I am by no means where god has called me to be but i am on the path that will get me there in his time. God never does things the way we expect his plan is better because he sees the whole picture. i do not take lightly the call i have on my life in the last few months i can honestly say that god was developing character ion me by placing me in situations to be obedient and when i passed or failed he let me know....i have to say the whole jonah experience has left me with a fishy taste in my mouth, i now find myself in nineveh screaming at god saying you got me here...im here...what do you want me to do...lol. God has his on little ways of guiding our lives in ways we cant see but we can feel the strains and prodes of his oh so "gentle" cattle proding in our disobedience. I myself am in a place where i have all these things but they keep getting taken away breaking down my pride little by little because god is telling me to trust, press, beleive, obey, be patient, and quit touching it you gave it to me now leave it alone. Leave it alone that is hard to do when you dont know how. God tells me often...like he told jonah "what right do you have to be angry nothing you have is yours you gave it to me so i can take or give what i want"....what right do I have? I am sorry this introduction is reading more like a blog...lol I fully beleive that God will do. what he will do, when he intends to do it. So I can only at this present point in time press my shoulder firmly to the plow and watch what God can do when he is in complete control. I am full of this unyeilding passion to pour into the lives of teenagers and young adults but its not Gods time....there is a man who lives inside of me, imagine a wild man chained to a wall...hes crazy, like tougue talking, fire walkin, pew hoping, oil slingin, truth speakin, holy ghost driven, unyeilding and unwaivering in all he does but he isnt allowed to come out...not yet god promised me that when he has refined me enough and got enough of "me" out of the way that man can come out....THE DEVIL KNOWS OF WHO I SPEAK AND THE DEVILS IN HELL TREMBLE AT THE THOUGHT OF HAVING TO DEAL WITH THAT MAN BECAUSE THAT IS GODS MAN.
